TV comedy star to make his Aberdeen debut in Music Hall

East End funnyman Micky Flanagan is heading for the North-east next year to make his Aberdeen debut at the city’s Music hall on Sunday, April 7.

The award-winning stand-up has risen to the top in the comedy circuit  in less than two years, from his show-stealing performance at the Royal Variety Show in 2010 to unforgettable television appearances on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Live at the Apollo.

Tickets for his Aberdeen gig go on sale this Friday (May 18)online at www.boxofficeaberdeen.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and at Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre.

“Micky is one of the best-known and most popular comedians on both the stand-up circuit and on TV,” said Aberdeen Performing Arts press manager Joyce Summers.

“It’s only a matter of time before he joins the likes of Eddie Izzard and John Bishop on arena tours, so this is a chance to see him up-close and personal in the intimate setting of the Music Hall.”

His first tour in 2010/2011 was so popular, it was extended several times and culminated with the fastest-selling stand-up show on the West End since Eddie Izzard.

Micky starred in his own Radio 4 show, What Chance Change?, which examined his upbringing in the heart of East London, to his move to the heart of the middle classes.

And his first DVD - Micky Flanagan Live: The ‘Out Out’ Tour - was released in November to become the best selling debut DVD of 2011.

He was a British Comedy Award nominee last year, and has appeared on numerous television comedy shows including Mock The Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Argumental, A League of Their Own and The Graham Norton Show.
