“HE SHIMMERS WITH STAGE PRESENCE AND HIS COMIC TIMING IS SHARP ENOUGH TO BURST BALLOONS.” Independent
Due to popular demand and following a total sell-out Autumn 2009 tour, Mick Perrin for Just For Laughs Live is proud to present Reginald D Hunter’s latest show for a 55 date tour of the UK.
Reginald D Hunter’s uniquely non-secular approach to comedy continues to batter down the time-honoured constraints of politics, religion and so-called morality.
This is comedy that doesn’t form alliances or make easy choices by playing to our comfort zones. It is comedy that attempts to make us see ourselves for what we are, without judgement.
“HIS ABILITY TO MAKE A ROOM HANG ON HIS EVERY WORD IS PRETTY MUCH UNRIVALLED” Telegraph
A regular performer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2002, Reginald’s career has led to him being invited to perform in venues the world over in places such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and South Africa. He is one of the few performers to have been nominated for the Perrier Award in three consecutive years. His debut Edinburgh show in 2002, I Said What I Said was nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award and his next two shows (White Woman in 2003 and A Mystery Wrapped In A Nigga in 2004) both received Perrier Award nominations. In 2006, as well as performing in America for the first time, Reginald won The Writers’ Guild Award for Comedy for his show Pride And Prejudice And Niggas, which he then presented for a season in London’s West End and on a national tour of the UK.
“FEW ACTS NESTLE A CROWD IN THE PALMS OF THEIR HANDS QUITE LIKE THIS…COMICALLY ASTUTE, REWARDINGLY PROVOCATIVE.” Times
Reginald has performed at Sydney Opera House and has become a regular face at the Sydney Comedy Festival and Melbourne Comedy Festival. He is also a well-known face on primetime television shows such as 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and QI and is a frequent guest on Have I Got News For You. He has recently appeared in Argumental for Dave Channel and Would I Lie To You for BBC1. He has also just finished starring alongside Andy Hamilton in BBC4’s It’s Only A Theory.
“HIS PRESENCE AND INTELLIGENCE MAKE HIM ONE OF THE MOST BRILLIANTLY UNPREDICTABLE COMICS IN THE COUNTRY” Sunday Times
