The Gilded Balloon has become synonymous with comedy in Scotland and continues to showcase the cream of the comedy circuit's up-and-coming talent, taking the hits from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on the road for a brilliant evening of top comedy.

This show will feature Hattie Hayridge supported by Jim Park and will be compered by Viv Gee.

Hattie Hayridge performs live stand-up comedy around Britain and all over the world, including in Montreal, Melbourne, Adelaide and Edinburgh Comedy Festivals.  Having recently performed in Zagreb, it’s now likely that she has completed a total A-Z of venues. She is known worldwide for her role as HOLLY, the Computer in the hugely successful BBC sci-fi comedy, Red Dwarf.  Her other TV appearances have included Have I Got News For You and Johnathon Creek.  Most recently she performed stand-up on nation-wide American television on Craig Ferguson's The Late Late Show, and on the panel show, Swots on Radio Scotland.

“She’s clever on stage and she has a lot more bite than you first expect.  Hattie reminds me of those James Bond sexy villains.  Right when it looks like she’s about to kiss you, Hattie drops a tarantula down your pants.”
Time Out

“There is something winsome about Hattie Hayridge.  She has the quiet grin that actually seems to scream at you, 'I’m being very naughty here,' it bellows, ‘but I’ll also make you laugh'.”
Daily Mirror

“Deceptively timid comedienne whose shy wit masks a razor-edge humour.  An iron fist inside a velvet glove”
Daily Mail

Viv Gee began her career as a comic at the age of 25 and has been a regular on the circuit ever since.

After appearing in the finals of the 1993 'So You Think Your Funny?' competition she began performing in comedy venues throughout the UK.  Her TV and radio appearances include Lorraine Kelly’s Make Me Happier (STV), Stake Out and Hedz (CBBC), Revolver, The Key and Velvet Soup (BBC 2), The Today Programme (Radio 4) and Fred Macaulay Show, Cover Stories, Comedy Café and Velvet Cabaret (Radio Scotland).

She has previously compered T in the Park and Glasgow’s Hogmanay as well as supporting Mark Thomas, Jo Brand and Henry Rollins.

"Forthright, frank and funny" The Evening News

“So sharp she could cut herself” Edinburgh Evening News

“That was f***ing flawless” Henry Rollins
